Reliability/Yearly Maintenance Cost of TT
I'm looking into purchasing a new car and I really like the Mk1 Audi TT, but the reliability of these cars really scares me. Are they really that bad? What things should I look out for and what will this car cost me a year maintenance wise? I'm looking at purchasing the 1.8T Quattro as I really need the AWD. Also this car will be used as a daily so it can't be in the shop all the time.

Have to agree with Baily. The newest Mk 1 is 10 years old. I would not buy ANY 10 year old car and expect high reliability. I'd buy a car that had cheap parts and inexpensive indy mechanics, assuming your are not DIY. That eliminates any German car.
