So I got those bolts out - whoever designed that? And why 12-point? And I love that they are kind of counter sunk so you can't get a perfect fit on the wrench!
Anyway, I tried getting the engine out but I guess I have to drop the subframe to get clearance huh? Even then you said you had to wrestle it over the steering rack?

Ok, that's what I thought.
I'm using the tab on the head and the black bracket on the other side as lift points. It seems to make the engine really tilt backwards. It seems like from your son's photos that's what he used?

Good news, engine is out. I was able to swing the downpipe horizontally and get the engine out without dropping the subframe since I was able to get to the 3 top bolts and remove them!
How extreme were you in replacing o-rings and things that look ok? Did you replace every little seal?
