Default To those who have posted asking for costs/details on my silver alcantara seats. Here you go!

Material:
1 linear yard of Audi OEM Silver Alcantara(ultrasuede Milanio[for vehicles])
Blue is also an option. Anything else(any other color that is) WON'T be Alcantara unless you maybe source it from Audi in Europe. I looked at other forms of ultrasuede. I looked at light, regular and HP.

Light is meant for handbags and similar items. Regular is usually used in clothing and HP is used in furniture. Of the many swatches I got no color offfered came as close to the silver I got and the only one that MIGHT have held up in a car seat would be the HP but even then I don't think it would. For those of you looking for red or green inserts, I would highly sugggest getting the silver and dyeing a color instead of going with a cheaper non-alcantara(milano) ultrasuede.

Purchased from:
UUC Motorwerks

Cost:
$100 + $10 shipping

Install location:
REDAN AUTO UPHOLSTERY COMPANY
365 E CEDAR ST, NEWINGTON, CT 06111
Phone: (860) 666-4005
Ask for Ken Kelly. Tell him you want the same as Jenner's Audi TT seats. He will know exactly what you are talking about and it will be a little cheaper cause he knows how the seats work now.

Cost:
12 hours of labor @ $45 an hour + tax ($550+$110 for materials = ~$650)

Details:
I did one seat at a time in order to have ZERO down time on my car. I did the passenger seat first. When I dropped of my drivers seat, I replaced it with the passenger seat. I lost control of the up down handle, but other than that, they swap fine. I didn't reconnect the airbags until both seats were back in the correct location. This WILL trip a code in the ECU, but can easily be cleared by the dealership or anyone with a VAG Tool cable/emulator software.

Pros:
Grips your butt in the corners!
Custom look
brights up ebony interior cockpit(silver seats actually reflect off interior aluminum brighting even more!)
Cooler in the summer/warmer in the winter
Seat heaters turn on faster
Cleans with just water

Cons:
Cost...plus the stock leather is very high quality
If you want zero down time, the hassel of swapping seats(no big deal in my mind) otherwise about 1-2 days downtime on your car.
Possiblity of a stain might show up more on silver vs black.
Repairing it might cost more(not sure)
Hard to turn in a leased car without buying it after this mod(even though it is truly awesome and the cars should have come this way!)

For those of you who can't use Redan in CT, try and find a local upholstery shop that repairs high end autos or does custom interiors. I found out about Redan because my Dad had his 1984 Porsche 911 cabrio seats restored to new. 16+ years with the wind and sun beating down on them, not to mention a previous owner that didn't take care of the seats, caused them to crack and dry out. The restored seats came out beautiful with matching leather color to the rest of the car and every stitch was in the exact place as it was before.

Default I have no clue if dye would hold, and you don't want real suede! Why, because

Ultrasuede is a synthetic suede. Created to have all the positives of suede and none of the negatives. It does not need to be cared for like suede, it does not stain with just WATER, and the many different flavors of ultrasuede(mentioned in post above) are for different applications. The Ultrasuede Milano(Alcantara) was created FOR VECHILE use. It is mean to have your butt, your pants pocket buttom, your jackets zippers etc. go over it in and out in an out. It cleans with water(where water stains normal suede) and it doesn't need to be treated with chemicals to maintain it.

Also with any car whenever you open the door in rain or snow, or rain or snow on your coat GETS ON the seat! With the TT frameless windows, it's even worse. I think you would run the suede by putting it in car.

FYI, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi, Lexus and other high end European/Asian ALL use the Milano(Alcanta) version of Ultrasuede for their use in vehicles.

Default ahh.... I wonder if you could get a color that is similar to

desert green from one of the other manufactuers then? IE I know BMW offered a green interior on the Z3

Default Sounds like a plan, I know what I know about this because I did lots of research. I'm done now, but

if you fancy desert green alcantara, I'm sure you can find it. Might cost a little more, or take more work...

Good luck!
