Default TT missing lateral acceleration sensor...normal?

Question then fluff. My 01 225 TT Quattro convertible does not seem to have the lateral acceleration sensor that's located under the steering column a bit to the right. Since my car does not have ESP, is that normal? There is just a bracket there with the two bolts, no sensor, harness or whatever that other thing that also mounts on that bracket. My car does have the longitude acc sensor located to the right of the glove box.

I have a code for the longitude sensor and the cars acting funny so I replaced it and have to zero out the value with a vag-com. Thought I'd check out the lateral sensor and its not there. I thought all TTs came with both always. I think there is a combined sensor for Lateral/Longitude for the 03s and up but mines an 01. I can take pictures if needed.....

Thanks as always

Well without ESP why would you need the lateral sensor?

I think my 225HP Roadster has ESP - I know the coupe does cause I just fixed it!
