Default warning light?

After dropping $1800 on various repairs on the wifes TT, we have run into a gremlin. In the center display, which is not very clear anymore, there is a sporadic yellow warning light that will come and go. Incidentally, the washer fluid light was on (I could tell what that one was), I filled it up, the light went away...until this one came on. I have looked at the shape as best I could and tried to match it to the ones in the manual, but none look right.

When the light comes on, and if the radio is on, the volume is muted, but the radio stays on. The heat/ac control lights go out. When the warning light goes away, the sound comes back and the heat/ac control lights come back on.

One job the mechanic did on this car was replace the alternator. When the wife was first driving it after we picked it up, the brake light, abs light and battery light would come on as well as the volume on the radio muted. After hooking the car up to a multimeter, the alternator ranges from 12.4 volts to around 17 volts. When it goes high is when the radio goes silent but this warning light in the center display wasn't there before.

After some searching, apparently there is a yellow battery light that can indicate high voltage...maybe that's what is showing

This is what the light looks like. The car is running, multimeter shows 17 volts at the battery, no radio volume and heat/ac control lights are out. I don't see anything in the manual or anywhere else that looks like this, even though some pixels are out.

Tanin Auto Electric or Module Master are the go-to people for the "unclear" display you mentioned.
