Default What do you think of this price for a 2005 TT?

Hi,

I've spent time exploring this forum, and now I'm a member. Back in 2006 I sold my TT, and now I got an itch to buy another one.

I came across a 2005 TT, with a s 6 speed manual, 80k miles, Quattro, etc. The car is exceptionally clean. The price is $12k. That's the lowest the dealership will go.

What do you guys think, good or bad deal?

A national search on cars.com for 2005 or 2006 shows the lowest price of $11K with 80K on the ticker. However, there are several with around 50K for $13K.

Default High but close

Just bought a tt 225 Coupe from private party, original owner, a 2003 BEA engine with 70,200 miles. Asking price $10,500, paid $10,200. Passed earlier on a 2005 225 private party asking $10,000, offered $9600, but I backed out, too many issues with car. The 2003 I bought is in great shape, no problems. So a dealer asking $12,000 is reasonable, but there's wiggle room. They'll make a profit at $1000 less!

what would be a true value of a 2005 , TT convert w/ 75k miles w/ rebuilt title? just the passenger door was messed up, all replaced now , with new brakes , new timing belt, new water pump, newLED headlights , new tires, new fans , all filter changed a dn fluids changed , all ready for the road. Black ext , dark gray interior , Paint in very great shape. almost showroom new . oh, also the dash with the dead pixels has been refurbished also. Really nice car now .

just wondering , thanks but if my wife does not like the car , it will be up for sale .

A rebuilt title raises too many flags irrespective of the reason. For example, some insurance companies will not repair a car with a rebuilt title or pro-rate coverage. I've not shopped older TTs with a rebuilt title but see them occasionally when looking at late model TTs. In that situation, the ASKING price is about 2/3 of a similar car with a clear title.
