Local shop wants to get rid off stocked 245/45s IMO. Go with 225/40.

Default The guy is so full of crap. What kind of a stupid dimension is that? It'll throw totally off aspect

ratios. Sidewall will be a lot bigger. Jesus, what an a$$.

Default and treadwidth is measured from the beginning of the tread om the sidewall over the tire and down...

... to the end of the tread on the sidewall on the other side of the tire

therefor the treadwidth should be a bit more than the actual width of the rim

Default 245/45 is totally wrong. It will cause faulty speedo reading, and throw off aspect ratios. Look link

and calculate. The sidewall will be to big compared with your stock tires, and that's catastrophic.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html</a

Default that's odd. usually car companys put on tires that are a bit too wide...

... cus' the ride gets smoother, especially on larger rims
