Default What's the strongest stock engine ever made? ***PRODUCTION***
Of any brand, of any era, what engine (on stock internals) can withstand the most boost?

NOTE: Not which one comes WITH the most boost stock. But after other modifications (not touching the internals of the engine) which can take the most boost...

NOTE: *MUST BE A PRODUCTION ENGINE* no race stuff or custom built motors.

Lists are cool, I'm just trying to win an argument here with my friend, I want to see what your opinions are.

Default I saw a Supra putting down over 450 HP at the wheels at a VA Dyno Day
More powerful then a brand new Viper that was also dyno'd.. I was amazed... HUGE turbo was on the Supra.

And 450 is nothing for those cars. Very impressive engine.

Supra engine can only take 31psi on stock internals. Our motors are almost as strong as that.

That's a 6-liter V12, only making 604hp, I bet they barely run any boost.

That's the first one that comes to my mind. Maybe the I4 from the 944? I don't know how much boost they run but I have seen some with large turbos fitted.

Default Nope, 8-liter W16, that's just over 100hp/liter.
Our cars are making close to 200hp/liter with the stage 3 kits. The Supra engine is 3-liter and there are some cars putting down 800+hp.
