2008 3.6L Air con issue
Hi,
I have an issue with the air con.
I went to 2 shops already to check it and everything is fine, and there is nothing to be repaired - changed.
But
The air con stops working when weather is really hot. It seems like there is an automatic security system switching off the AC above 45 - 47 degrees Celsius .
I live in Dubai we reach those temperatures often.
1/ Is my guess of an automatic "security" AC switch off correct?
2/ How can I solve the issue?
My wife loves her car but she can't use it during summer!
Regards.

Cermastore.com makes a product that when applied, it helps keep the A/C system cooler by allowing better heat transfer while treating the metal internals. I've used the product on my recently sold 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. I never had any issues, just took advantage of it as I was using his other products. Not sure if this applies, but you might be able to change the water pump thermostat to a lower temp point to keep the car cooler. Please, anyone correct me if I'm mistaken.

Hi,
Thanks, that's the point I'm not sure what goes wrong.
Each time outside temp goes above 45 - 47 degrees Celsius the AC stopped and the AC light switch off also.
It happens even on the highway not only in traffic so it looks like outside temperature drives the "automated" security but I'm not sure and I can't get confirmation by local dealer. They test the AC again & again and everything is fine.

Hi,
Sorry I did not try that. Car was with the dealer again. I got it back for the week end.
Temp sensor in front of the main radiator was replaced.
It seems to be OK for now.
Thanks
