Default 2012 TTS MPG still low

Hi all,

I have 36k miles on my 2012 TTS. I've been monitor the mpg since I have it but the general (regular driving) I get is 26mpg for totally highway drive, 22mpg combination, and 18mpg for purely city. To me is way below the spec which is 19/31 mpg city/highway. Is this making sense? Please help me here. Thanks.

I have a 2013 TTS with about the same mileage and get an aggregate average (about 50/50 highway/city) of 26 when I have it in normal mode and non-sport settings. Driving it in "manual" mode I get an average of 23 (50/50 split again). In purely Sport/Manual on the twisty roads I get 18/19ish. Has your car been modded at all?

The only time I ever got near the "advertised" mileage was with my '01 MKI TT when I could get 33mpg highway on long road trips, but that was the early 180 horse version.

Thanks for sharing your data. My God... Your combination is my high way MPG.

No, the number I get is purely factory car and I always us 91 gas. It's so weird and I don't know why I never get 26 combination...
