2012 TTS and my quest for an ECU upgrade. No luck yet.
Hey Folks,
I have a 2012 Audi TTS, and about 18 months ago I had my ECU flashed with an APR Stage 1 tune. Unfortunately it didn't work well. There were occasional misfires, and the engine light would frequently illuminate under full throttle acceleration. The installer tried new spark plugs and coil packs, but it didn't help. I eventually went back to stock, and that's what I've been running for the last 18 months.
Today I decided to try REVO. They claim to support the TTS, so I went down to a different local shop to have it flashed. However, they talked to REVO on the phone, and REVO said there was no ECU software for my car. Huh? What's up with that? Are there different kinds of 2012 TTS's?
So now I can't use APR and can't use REVO. I don't understand what is so peculiar about my car.
Now I have a couple of choices:
1) I can try APR again, and hope that during the last 18 months they changed the software in such a way that it won't cause a misfire. A friend of mine also suggested that the misfire could possibly have been fixed by a new injector. What do you think about that?
2) I could try GIAC.
What do you suggest?

I haven't used these guys (yet), but I've heard good things. Bonus is that they offer, for a fee, a DIY home tune loader.

I see it's been a few months since your post, but I just had my 2012 TTS reflashed by GIAC and the results are fantastic. Rock solid idle, smooth, seamless operation, very obvious extra torque in 2nd & 3rd gear, same mpg. Win, win, win.
