Default Broken Paddle Shifter

Has anyone experienced an issue with their paddle shifters? Yesterday I down shifted once going up a incline and after the car accelerated enough I squeezed the PLUS paddle and nothing happened. Absolutely no detend at all. Also no movement of the paddle. As if locked and couldn't move.
So today in the parking lot at work with engine running and tranny in park I turned the steering wheel to different angles while depressing the paddle periodically. When the wheel was turned 90 degrees to the left I felt the detent
and felt normal again. However, when I turned the wheel straight, it felt stuck again and would only free up when I turned the wheel to the left. The paddle feels a little loose as well. Guess it's probably a broken switch.

Had that happen to my wife's 08 TT roadster a couple of years ago. Only solution was bring to dealer and have paddle shifter replaced. Can't remember cost however, sorry.
