Default Daytime running light warning - not burnt out

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a 2008 TT S-line

Just the other day I had a warning come up that said "Side light / Daytime running light, right-side"

The light isn't actually out, but I took it in to the dealership where I purchased it anyway to at least have the alert removed. The mechanic said it has an aftermarket headlight kit that they didn't install so they are unsure how to remove the warning outside of removing the kit and installing the original headlight.

Not too interested in paying big money to have the original kit installed and the warning is pretty annoying... is this a common issue and is it really that difficult of a fix?
