I am installing DRLs on my bumper outer grills. I'm asking for help locating an under-hood 12 volt source when the ignition switch is turned on. I tried tapping into the ignition coil fuse by adding a plug-in 2-fuse extender which turns the lights on with ignition but then has to time out to extinguish them. I'd like them to turn on and off immediately with the ignition switch. I had previously done this on my SLK Mercedes and the fuse tap worked fine. Is there someplace else to do this? I am assuming there is a master relay which feeds the fuse blocks because I hear a click when the lights go out.
Any help would be appreciated.

Too hot here in Phoenix to pursue right now. Once it cools down I will start again.

Sounds like a good plan. I ended up going to the main fuse box but for future use it would be convenient not to have to do that.
