MK2 TT (8J) Reverse Camera Wiring Diagram
For anyone interested in adding a reverse camera, here's a good article a couple of us put together on the UK Forum site to install and after-market reverse camera set up using the RNS-E.
I'm not sure if the US version is different than the UK/European version, but check it out and see if this is useful.

Hi,
The early Mk2's have licence plate lights which require two screws. These were discontinued during 2007 production to the "snap-in" design which followed all consecutive Mk2 production.
To my knowledge, the licence plate light camera described in the Audi TT UK Forum write up is only available for the later model Mk2 TT's. And in fact, is becoming more and more difficult to find. However, any reverse camera can be retrofitted as long as the RNS-E is RFLS compatible as described in the write-up.
Several people have used other cameras either mounted to the rear license plate frame, or above the fog light.
If you have any further questions, I hope to hear from you in the UK Forum. :-) Cheers! Swiss

Do you know of any specific camera that would fit the screw type license plate light holder mount? I ordered a camera from car communications.co.uk,, but after discussion with them about my license plate light holder they gave me refund because of the incompatible fit
Nevermind. I found one that may work.
