No, it's just a fancy iPhone charger in North America. That and the wiring is no longer there as of 2009. I tried to make it work in my TTS but it was going to get costly and labour intensive.

Does anyone have the part number for a 2008 TT Roadster? I ordered the pieces from this thread, but when it arrived I noticed it's too flat. For the roadster, since it's a 2 seater, the phone cradle is placed right up against the back wall and is curved up towards the back.

Hey Pete, nice solution. Tried taking mine apart, saw all the wiring then put it all back together. But yeah, I'd like to get rid of it and replace it with something else like you did. Do you have a tutorial on what you did with links to the parts?

no tutorial per se but remove the existing one, the wires should have a connector that is fairly easy to separate with some basic hand tools.. worst case just snip them and wrap then ends in some electrical tape.. but since you won't be needing them anymore NBD.
The parts are the same as listed in the first post in this thread. I found them at this online store (looking now they are more expensive than a few years ago... and no photos..) Audi Parts and Accessories - Bernardi Audi Parts and Accessories part# 8J8-863-416-4PK "Audi Mat" and # 8J0-863-274-B-6PS "Audi Cover"

Did the same to mine. Really was easy. Looks much cleaner and of course, is a useful little tray to have there.
