Default Used TTS's How Many Miles Are Too Many?

Looking at used TTS's, and the ones I see in the price I like are 60,000+ miles. I really want a car that's reliable and fun, are those miles getting into a dangerous area? Historically, I've always bought low mileage cars and have sold them by the time the go out of warranty or shortly thereafter. This is new territory for me. For example there's an '08 w/72k for $24,995 on Autotrader.

Thanks.

Default On the Mk 1 boards there are frequent posts by folks looking at cars 100K+

I think the Mk 2 is more reliable then the Mk 1 which has many cars on the road with 150K+ on the ticker, but there are not a lot of TTs out there with 100K+ on the DSG tranny.

The Mk 2 TT was not a hot selling car, averaging about 2K sold a year for the past 5+ years and that includes the even scarcer TTS in that number. So to get the best deal you will have to search nationally. Cars.com shows 2 TTS for sale with under 40K miles asking $30K for a roadster and $23K for a coupe. I've flown out of town to buy each of the 3 TTs I've bought over the years. It's been well worth it.

Also, there is no such animal as a 2008 TTS. The first TTS was produced in 2009. Are you confusing TTS with a base TT with the S-line option? They are not the same thing. Look here Fourtitude.com - MK2 TT a5 FAQ or check the Audiworld model guide. A base TT with the S-line option is easier to find and is less expensive than a TTS

That '08 was my mistake, it's an '09. Bad typing.

I can attest to the MK I mileage. I had 160K on my '01 TT coupe. I currently have 25K on my '13 TTS coupe and so far, so good. Just tires and oil so far.

You can also try to find a lower mileage and bit "younger". I mean for example 2010 Audi Tt - Cars for Sale - Claz.org

Maybe an s-line is easier to find than a TTS, but mine is pretty unusual in that it's a loaded '08 with 32K miles, a factory short throw 6MT and the 3.2V6 250HP. Car has been great and I keep trying to find a reason to trade it for something else. Always open to seeing if anyone's interested. Car doesn't have a mark on it, literally.
