ok got that.....I'm looking at the similar rims as above, with 225/45/18 tires.......TireRack then comes up with 100's of options for rims, with many different offsets from what I can see. The Anzio ones from above have 45mm offsets.....I called TireRack up and they wouldn't commit to any rim sizes/offsets because they say they haven't measured the car yet.

I don't know a ton about the offsets, what range of offset can I be comfortable with?

ok thanks, looks like the offset range is quite high.

I've got the 19" rim package on the new TT, do you know of a 18" rim that looks somewhat similar to the 19" package I'm getting with the car?

I had a similar design decision given the 19" rims on my A5 and wanting to go 18" for Winter. The Rial line I selected from TireRack might also be to your liking in matching the TT OEM. btw: I plan to reuse my Rial's on my incoming TTS (34mm offset vs. TT's 45mm OEM), and likely very soon after delivery. I prior went Rial DH but the Rial Como is listed for Mk2 TT.

I have ordered X-Ice 3 in a 225/50-17. The aftermarket wheels were sized to my Mk2, and the dealer checked them on my Mk3 before I ordered the new tires

i geezus.... i just read this post.... i have not been here in a while... (enjoying my TT).

So did I buy the wrong tires/rims?

This is what I got.
225/45R 18 Michelin X-Ice

You are saying that this is slightly wrong.... will it still work?

Will I have any issues?

Should be fine. What you have is 0.8% larger than standard, so your speedometer and odometer will read slightly low while you have them installed. There may be a way to adjust the readings with VCDS, but my laptop is on a different continent right now, so I can't check. Here's a useful comparison tool:

Yes, this is the wrong size, but not by much.

225/45/18 = 25.97" overall diameter
245/40/18 = 25.72" overall diameter

If you haven't mounted the tires yet, you should swap them for the correct size.

sorry to bump this message back to the top.....but will be picking up my car tomorrow, and was going to order the 18" Rial Como rims with snow tires shown above from TireRack. When I was looking a month ago, they were available, of course I delayed and now they don't show up on TireRack. Any other ideas for similar looking rims to my 19" upgrades on a TT coupe?
