sorry to bump this message back to the top.....but will be picking up my car tomorrow, and was going to order the 18" Rial Como rims with snow tires shown above from TireRack. When I was looking a month ago, they were available, of course I delayed and now they don't show up on TireRack. Any other ideas for similar looking rims to my 19" upgrades on a TT coupe?
So anyone care to comment. I assume I'm good with anything with a 45mm offset, since TireRack is offering that for the old TT, correct??
by the way.....here's old and new, side by side.....same color, I know, a bit boring, ...we live on a dirt road, silver hides the dust.....

Ha, exactly!! Yes total torture, pickup at 2pm today.....I think it was interesting to see them side by side, will get some better pics in my driveway later today if the light is good....
So does anyone have comments on the 45mm offset. I called TireRack last night and they won't guarantee a fit until they measure the car, and they have no idea when this will be.
Has anyone out there already installed their winter rims with 45mm offset?

The 20" wheels are 26.02" OD.
The 19" wheels are 25.75" OD.
So there is no reason to use the wrong size tire (especially because it is narrower) if you don't have to. If you want to use a narrow snow tore for deep snow traction, then the official 17" winter wheel/tire setup should be used (225/50/17). It is also important to use a wheel with the correct offset/width when downsizing the tire.
Will the tire in question work? Sure. But it is wrong.
