Would only buy a MkIII with a stick. No sports car should be without one, IMO. Of course, since I was 16, I have never purchased a car for myself with an automatic.

If you like automatics, buy a VW or maybe a Volvo.

Let's just say I already have my Medicare card, and since I was 16 and got my first car (a '68 GTO convertible), I have NEVER owned a car with an automatic transmission. They'll have to pry my MT out of my cold, dead hands....As for the BMW with steptronic in my sig - it's my wife's car. And yes, she can drive a stick, too.

When my A5 Lease ends on Jan 2017 I will buy only a manual transmission to replace it. I didn't buy a TTS Roadster this time around because of no manual. don't care if it's faster/wahtever, if I'm going to buy another go-cart car I want a MT.

My 2001 TT had the MT, the only way I'd get another one is fi I could get it with another MT.

Would like Audi to have the MT option for those of You that like it.
BUT I vote S-Tronic

IMO every one who says that driver is not in control of the car with automatic transmission (even worse with double clutch) knows nothing about serious driving

I have to side with the S-Tronic guys. That's what I have in my '14 S5 and you can control it with the paddle shifters when you think you're smarter than a computer. The only time I've done that is when I needed my braking (added engine braking) going downhill and around corners in a big hurry.

MT guys - launch control, rev matching downshifts, lightning fast upshifts, etc. How can you beat that?

Just popped into the dealership this weekend and unfortunately, Canada is not getting a manual transmission. Coupe and convertible are expected to start arriving in August and September and there will be no MTs.

Porsche Cayman base and Cayman S models offer a manual tranny, and the new 2016 Jaguar F-Type V6 models have it available now. These are TT/TTS competitors in my thinking. I'm waiting to test drive the new TT when it arrives in the US, and wish a manual would be available, but not for 2016, I fear.
