Smartphone Interface 2017

I was looking at my dealer inventory and it noted that the 2017 TTS had the "Audi Smartphone Interface" which I believe to be Apple Car Play and Google Auto).

I remember various discussions as to whether or not we would he receiving an upgrade for it before.

Anyone have any more details?

It is not just a software upgrade, the AMI hardware is also different. So it isn't something that can just be "unlocked".

I think the post I was reading was from some people discussing the Q7 in Europe and noting that vehicles past a certain production date could be updated while others didn't have the appropriate hardware. Any chance there?
