I've been considering the idea of getting the new TT, I love how the dash looks like and integration of all the controls into the virtual cockpit.

I remember reading somewhere that the TT will be compatible with Apple carplay (not sure about Android Auto), but I have only seen images of carplay integrated into the center console screen, not into the virtual cockpit itself.

I am wondering how that will look like, and if that's a good idea. I definitely want my next car to be compatible with both carplay and AA.

Not confirmed for the TT. Confirmed for Q7 and next gen. A4.

My TT isn't compatible with either CarPlay or Android Auto. I've been told by a couple of sales people that attended the TT launch event recently that there is an extensive update coming for the TT virtual cockpit MMI system. Maybe the update will add these features?

Thanks for this, which very helpful - any info at all of when this might be? Also, from your understanding did you get the impression that once released, the planned improvements can be applied to update the first set of Mk3's?

I'm in the Caribbean and am having some resistance from my dealer on the whole Navigation thing, and whether it will work here - I cannot for the life of me understand why Audi would create such a great piece of tech and not have it rolling for all markets from the outset!

No, it's not a big deal for me one way or another (a nice to have).
The Map Update Service I posted about some time ago is more important to me.
Because the SIM Card slot is in the car there is a chance it will be added later with a SW update....
