Default Where is the battery?

I have been looking at the 2016 TTS engine and couldn't find where the battery is. Is it underneath the fuse box?

I am just curious in how to change the battery if it is hidden and what type of battery does it require?

Beneath the spare tire in rear. Well placed to help balance the fore-aft weight distribution and low center of gravity. However note red positive terminal and silver ground tab in engine bay if jump needed (the S3's battery is in that vacant engine bay space btw).

It's tightly strapped in beside the spare tire under the trunk floor. I suspect this is not one you'll be able to find at your local parts store and will have to get from the dealer. On the plus side, the very similar one in the trunk of my A3 3.2 is still going strong after ten years in Minnesota.

Do you need any special kind of tooling to remove anything in the way in between the trunk and the battery to get access to the battery? I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I wanna take a look at my TT's battery because I feel like it might need replacing soon

It's not a battery you can find at an AutoZone, and it's also super important to code it when you get a new one. Can be done easily with VCDS.

How much should I expect to pay to get the battery replaced at an Audi dealership?

quite more expensive than replacing by yourself… any AGM battery (with ot without BEM sticker) it's ok, providing it has the same size, terminals position and capacity of the OEM one. Coding it properly after the installation, is a must.

What exactly is battery coding? Sorry, I hadn't ever heard of this concept before
