Default wiper surprise

hey, maybe this is normal on Audi's and I'm just ignorant about it.....but it's been raining all day. Are you aware of this.....if you have your wipers on (not intermittent), and you come to a stop, the wipers automatically go into intermittent until you start going forward again? How cool is that?

I keep running into things I wasn't aware of in this car.

Next stop, need to hard wire my radar detector.....won't be easy, as I read someone else mention.....the fuse box is in a bad spot and there don't appear to be many open spots in this fuse box.

As a former automation engineer myself I really appreciate Audi's top notch integration and therefore leave most everything in auto. They really do well consider all the nuances of operation.

Yep, it's been a pretty standard feature in vw/Audi, my 2006 Passat does that too

kinda figured I was late to the party, though my '08 MK2 didn't do it?

You have the wipers in the auto/speed sensitive position
I leave it all in auto, and let my A5 sort it all out.

I love over engineered cars!

Default Audi’s have lots of little engineering Easter eggs

i didn’t notice that my Q7 was automatically activating the rear wiper when I was backing up (if the rain sensor had activated the front wipers) until my rear wiper blade started making a stuttering noise because it was past its life cycle and needed to be changed. This was 2-3 years into ownership.

"Next stop, need to hard wire my radar detector"

I would suggest "Mirror Tap", which taps into the power going to your rearview mirror. I used it with my '15 A3 and V1 and it worked perfectly, and was very easy to install.

Are you sure you don't just have auto wipers? If you have the rain/light sensor and auto wipers enabled in the menu, the intermittent spot becomes a full auto position, and the intermittent switch becomes automatic sensitivity. It's a fantastic feature I never thought I'd enjoy.
