2004 A8 4.0TDi Label file for engine
Does such a thing exist, although I can access measuring blocks just what they are is pure guesswork, VCDS isn't selecting a label file at all, the log from the car shows 'redir' fail.
Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail!
Part No SW: 4E0 910 409 C HW: 4E0 907 409 B
Component: 4.0L 4V/TDI G000AGMª0020
I'm trying to track down a hot starting fault, there are no 'faults' recorded, crank sensor replaced but to no avail, this car is far too complex to go poking around blind - and I'd rather not submit to the financial abuse of Audi's hourly rate.

Do you have the latest version?
That is such an old vehicle I'd be surprised if it wasn't already in VCDS, but not every module has a label file.

I'd be surprised too but there seems to be very little detailed info around for the 4.0 TDi, there's plenty for the 4.2, 3.7 etc etc but I guess many Audi A8 drivers tend not to be 'DIY'ers.
What information I have found for the 4.0 tends to be 'superficial' and often contradictory - I think some base their responses on the 4.2 or 3.7 but they are significantly different engines.
As for the version of VCDS I guess it's the latest - whatever it downloaded recently since it checks when I load it, never bothered to look at the version.
