I've been working with my local shop to make some mods to my 2010 Q7 and so far we've only been able to enable the needle sweep. I am looking to enable Window and Sunroof open/close via the key fob and the emergency brake flash. I've found several posts here and on other forums that provide the following information:

Enable Remote Operation Windows and Sunroof
[46 - Cent. Conv.] [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] Byte 2
Bit 2 - Set to 1

Emergency Brake Flashing Lights
[46 - Comfort System]
[Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte 8:
Bit 0 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active (1 = active)
Bit 1 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active (1 = active)

Here's where I am stuck... My local shop is running the current version (14.10.0)of VCDS, and when we access 46-Central Conv., then Coding-07 we aren't seeing the "Long Coding Helper" per the instructions to enable either of these features. Do I have the wrong instructions?

I've attached step by step screen shots below that show what we are experiencing. Any help in getting these mods enabled would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Next screen after selecting Coding-07. (You'll notice no Long Coding Helper selection and the Comfort System (J393) Coding screen appears)





After clicking X on Comfort System (J393) Coding screen, the Recode Module screen is present and still no Long Coding Helper as previous instructions indicate.

Long coding is not available on all modules, especially in different models.
I know the source of those instructions and they don't apply to a Q7.

Thanks! Since posting I came across some other posts that suggest that I need to add +128 to the existing software coding in the Cent. Conv. Recode Module to enable the comfort function via remote. And then add the Comfort Functions I want to enable to the Adaption under Channel 61: Comfort Functions (total sum being 15)
+001 = Comfort Closing: Window Regulators via Remote Control
+002 = Comfort Opening: Window Regulators via Remote Control
+004 = Comfort Closing: Sunroof via Remote Control
+008 = Comfort Opening: Sunroof via Remote Control

I suspect that I would need to do similar for the Emergency Brake Flash, but under Channel 050: Adaptive Brake Light instead
+1 = Emergency Brake Blinking

Do you think I'm on the right path? Given that I'm a novice to this, I really don't want to risk messing up the computer in my Q7.

That all sounds correct per the wiki: Audi Q7 (4L) Comfort System - Ross-Tech Wiki

The emergency braking coding may not work on NAR vehicles, but I'm not sure where you are.

Make sure to SAVE an Autoscan BEFORE you change anything.
That way if something goes wrong you can go back to the original coding.
