A6 Gateway Module Install? Programming? Help please!
My MMI failed for the second time in 2 years. The MMI board itself is actually fine, it's the module behind the glove box that's actually failed. I've copied a pic for reference (it's part #1). The install process of the unit looks fairly easy, but my shop was wondering if there was any coding beyond the install? They inquired about a Workshop Code - what is that exactly? I'm simply in need of details of what needs to be done with VAGCom to complete the entire install process?
Part # is: 4F0910732QX
Attachment 104766

Did you get this resolved without going to the dealer? The diagram(number 1) shows the control head not the gateway.
I've got a new Control Head on the way as the MMI in my D3 A8 was cycling on and off every few seconds and a VCDS scan showed electrical and optical errors with the Control Head. While diagnosing my issues I disconnected the Gateway(located right next to the Control Head in the A8) and the car wouldn't even stay running when I left the Gateway unplugged.

What is being referred to here? "The MMI board itself"
[people need to be as explicit as possible - was explicit about identifying the "headunit" - but not the "MMI board itself"]
My MMI will not turn on although the is power to all components - CD, NAV-DVD, AMP, comtrol panel and presumably the display.
My diagnostics say it is the "CAN Gateway"
Exactly what part on the diagram is the "CAN Gateway"
Number 1 is the "headunit" or "MMI Interface box/module"
Last poster said it is beside the "headunit" - which number on diagram or is it not on the diagram?
Also, what is involved in reseting the system is a "protected" component is replaced?
