What is the procedure for recoding the automatic transmission for a 2004 A8L? The instructions that I found online were for the D2 version and don't apply.

In a partially unrelated issue, is there a way to log the operation of the transmission in real-time? My transmission has started slipping a lot lately. At least I think it is slipping. Many times when the RPM gets just below 2000, my transmission wants to shift to a higher gear. Either is slipping or there is something wrong with my clutch. I believe it is happening between 3&4, 4&5, and 5&6. When this is happening, I can do one of two things: switch to tiptronic mode or gun down the accelerator hard. I want to do the logging because the transmission woes don't happen every time and I would like to show my repair shop some information.

Any advice?
