Default adaptation woes.

Hi,

I lowered the suspension on my 2006 Audi A8 earlier today, it all went ok and i did the adaption ok. So tonight, I thought I would lower it a little bit more to 20mm front and 15mm rear.

But this time, the adaption wont take hold. On the third channel, it comes up with "ERROR Security Access" and I cant complete the adaption.

I've tried multiple times.

1, enter security code
2, adaption - channel 1, ok
3, Adaption - channel 2, ok
4, Adaption - Chanel 3, security error.

So I set the basic settings back to 55 and tried again. Same thing. So now my car is in limp mode, it wont go into 'lift' mode so I cant get it out of my driveway!

Any help appreciated.

Paul.

Why didn't you call Ross Tech once you had the problem?

That really doesn't help me!

I doubt they will be open at 10pm!

Paul.
You posted this at 3:54pm, not 10pm, that's why I asked. They were open.
If you have their cable and software, you have support.
If you don't, then I can see why you didn't call them...

No, I posted at nearly midnight actually! I'm in the uk.

I got the cable from a company called vag-com on amazon, the cable does say Ross tech on it though? Would you advise that I call Ross tech?

Regardless, I still have the issue with the cable..

No please don't bother. You have an illegal clone of our product. No official Ross-Tech distributor is selling through Amazon or eBay. And there is no "real" Ross-Tech distributor operating as a company called vag-com.

Good luck!

This.

And sorry about the time that was posted.

Hopefully a mod will edit your title so it doesn't mislead those looking for authentic Ross Tech info...

Oh right, well how was i supposed to know?

What a nice friendly bunch here, not!

If you want to make sales, I suggest you are a bit nicer to potential customers!

That's a bit off the deep end, no?

You had your opportunity to buy their product prior to anyone not being nice, and you still went with a boot leg cable.
I'm sure if you had contacted Ross Tech prior to making a purchase they would have confirmed then that your seller was suspect.
How do I know that? Because I did EXACTLY that prior to buying mine online. Was told the seller was an authorized distributor with no issues.

Contact your seller and have them diagnose the problem? Or maybe you're using stolen Ross Tech software as well with the boot leg cable?...

All the info you needed from the top of this forum- https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2794237

When I first looked, I did find Ross tech's website as well other websites. But to me, its just a diagnostic cable!

Ross tech should put something on their web page warning that they are the only makers of these leads/software. It would save a lot of confusion then?
