Default Adjusting settings for performance - D3L 4.2L

Hello all...

Does anyone know if one can make any (at all) adjustments to the settings within VCDS to improve performance or bring altered settings back to factory default?

I haven't made any changes to my system as of yet, but I wanted to make exhaust changes and I'm sure changes in exhaust back pressure will call for adjustment in fuel trim settings, however, I wasn't sure if these setting can be accessed via VCDS.

Pardon any of my ignorance of the VCDS system as I'm still pretty green when it comes to VCDS.

Thanks in advance.

Vcds can't do any of that. It's primarily used for troubleshooting codes and making other less intrusive mods. Anything to do with the ECU, such as what you've inquired about, requires far more complex systems.

Also, go fast mods on the 4.2 aren't plentiful, but you can always do exhaust, sway bars, suspension, etc....
