Battery Coding - Measuring Blocks
Replaced the battery on the A8 (4E with ASE 4.0 Engine)
The recommended battery is 100Ah but since the 110Ah recommended for the 4.2 isn't significantly more expensive I went for the higher capacity and better CCA - 920 versus 850.
I've re-coded it in VCDS - which failed - always fails - something to do with a bug I hear - just what should I see as the available capacity in measuring block 3 - shows 1000 - was expecting 1100, I used the appropriate part number for a 110Ah battery (000915105DL), I don't think that the serial number matters a whole lot as long as it changes by at least a digit - the battery doesn't have a serial number (top of the line Varta Silver).
Is there a measuring block that shows the correct Ah of the battery - I scrolled through them all though and didn't find one, tell me this 100Ah isn't a hardcoded maximum in the BEMS - if it is can it be modified in one of the adaptation channels. Since this module can cause mayhem I don't want to go poking around 'randomly'.
Is there a fix for the 'coding rejected' message - told it's a bug in the BEMS - wouldn't mind if it was possible to confirm the correct numbers are in fact 'applied' in the BEMS measuring blocks.

My understanding is the serial number change is so that the BEMS knows to re-calculate the available capacity.
As for the coding rejected message you'll likely get a better answer on the Ross-Tech forum - see link in my signature block.
Post a complete unmolested Auto-Scan there and someone can hopefully decipher the issue.
