faulty instrument cluster...

So my friend has a 1999 jetta. He is having problems with his instrument cluster where speedo, fuel, temp are all no longer working. Can the Vag tool diagnose this? Are there sensors in the cluster that throw codes?

Mk3 or Mk4?

Mk4 clusters are diagnostics-capable while Mk3 clusters are not. Run an AutoScan if in doubt.
