I get a missing file message when I try to start the long coding helper for the CAN gateway. I can't find this on the ross-tech website. Dies it exist? (I was just browsing, not trying to change anything).
(VAG-COM release 512.4-UD with hex-usb-CAN cable)

When I step through the values for the A3 steering assist different words appear in the upper left text box (of 4) on the page They show the following:
VALUE, TEXT
1, Normal 2
2, Normal 3
3, Normal 4
4, Normal 5
5, User 2
6, Normal 1 (and the UP button is disabled.
The stored value for 1-6 are all 1. and 0 for numbers above that.

Two questions:
1. What do the "names" mean?
2. Is my range of adjustment only 1 through 5?<ul><li><a href="http://webpages.charter.net/dwarner2/SteeringVals.jpg">Screen captures of values..</a></li></ul>

...from model to model, the problem here is that this control module is installed in a very wide range of models, which makes correct listings for each value very hard. Each value represents a characteristic curve which can be "uploaded" to the control module "at will". To be more precise here, these values are usually spec'ed by the car's weight and it's special characteristics (e.g. a GTI get's a stiffer setting).
