I know it's possible but I can't seem to find the bit to change in VCDS.

[09 – Cent. Elect.]
[Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte 4 Bit 1 - Change 1 to 0

I only see bit 6 in byte 4. No other bits are visible in the menu for some reason. Any ideas?

Hello. Your documentation is not complete. Try this:

[09 central elect] [coding 07] -> long coding helper -> byte 4
Bit 1 (front fogs) uncheck the box or change bit 1 to 0
Bit 2 (rear fogs) unceck the box or change bit 2 to 0

The checkboxes make it much easier. If you wish to make the changes manually, which you must for some other changes, you need to count out the bits. Each byte has 8 bits, starting with bit 0 at the far right and ending with bit 7 at the far left. Example, 01000001 shows that bits 0 and 6 are set to 1 and all other bits are set to 0. Thank engineers for this confusion.

Thanks, for some reason the check boxes aren't showing up but I was able to manually change the bits from 1 to 0. It works perfectly now.

Excellent! No idea why the checkboxes are not there. Maybe you're using an outdated software version? No need to reply on that if you don't want to. Glad that you have it working now. I saw your other post but I have no info on setting the 'coming home' feature to use different lights such as the DRLs. Good luck on that one.

I'm running 11.3 and have been too lazy to upgrade. Are you sure there are checkboxes for this particular module? I see checkboxes for other modules, just not this one.

I could be wrong. I'm going by paper notes from VCDS & Hidden Menu: The Complete List which mentions checkboxes. I've set these only once for myself and maybe once or twice for other drivers but don't recall the specifics. You really should upgrade to 11.11 or so though
