I saw the thread talking about this with regards to the Audi SUV, but I didn't see the details. I have a 2011 A5 Cabriolet Prestige and would love to enable this option. I also have access to my own VAG-COM dongle/software, but have never used yet used it. This would be a great project to start on. Can someone point me in the direction of the details as to how to do this? I'm starting from scratch (knowledge wise), so I'm not even sure where to plug in at the dash.

I did this last night to my 2011 A5 Cabriolet Prestige. Alot of good sites out there, but here's the summary (from audienthusiasts.com)

Enable Automatic Gear selection shown in DIS
[02 – Auto Trans] [Adaptation – 10]
Select “Single Gear Display” from top channel drop down menu
Select “D on/S on” from New value drop down menu

I did this as well, which was key (the lights on warning was killing me when opening the door with lights on auto).
Lights On warning
Disable "Lights are on" Warning
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 5
Bit 3 - Set to 0 to disable "lights are on" warning when you open the door.

Also, you can enable SDS (voice control), which is disabled by default.
Activate SDS for cabriolet:
5F–Information Electr.
Change Byte 15 – Bit 0 to 1
Change Byte 16 – Bit 0 to 0
