Are these two Ross-Tech cables the same thing? (HEX cable does not say HEX+CAN on it, just "HEX-COM dual K").

The HEX-COM is the product that preceded the HEX-COM+CAN. Yes it is a dual K product but it has enhanced circuits that gives it the ability to retrieve live data faster than a KEY-COM. It's advanced circuitry also permits it to easily adapt to the more difficult modules out there. Last, the HEX-COM is built with heavier components and was the recommended product for professionals using the interface everyday in the shop. The HEX-COM sold for $50 more than the KEY-COM back in the day.
