Default I vag'd a friend's GTi this week and this was one of the codes that came up. any ideas would help

16985 - Internal Control Module: Memory Check Sum Error
35-00 - -

i'm guessing something to do with the ECU, the vehicle is chipped.

If anyone has any insite that would be greatly appreciated.

ECU has an internal problem - which company chipped it?

it's an APR chip in the ecu. Install issue perhaps?
