Besides the unlikely possible toasted IC from a wierd voltage spike during ...

disconnection and reconnection for the swap, the only thing I can think of is the harness connnector/s are not engaged fully into the IC.

The IC<>Engine ECU comms is apparently not involved with the cause of the ..

failed comms with the other networked controllers.
