Default Instrument Cluster replacement problems

I just installed a new instrument cluster in my 2000 S4 and am getting some weird behavior. The cluster doesn't seem to be talking across the CAN properly. The lights, temp, fuel work but the tach, DIS etc. do not. The DIS continually has the 'press the clutch' message. The RNS-E keeps asking for the security code and looks to no longer be coded properly as it doesn't light up with the headlights.

Here is the error logged in VAG-Com:

1 Fault Found:
01314 - Engine Control Module
49-00 - No Communications

Any ideas?

Default Re: Part number old vs. new? Current and original coding incl. channel 060-062 data?

Checking channel 060: old = 0, new =1025. After changing that and resetting the RNS-E everything seems to be working. Are there any other channels I need to check and match on the new cluster?

BTW, thanks a bunch. Its kind of unnerving to have a brand new cluster coded with your mileage and not working.

Let me rephrase it for you - Are there any channels, other than 060-062, that I should check?

No, the only other things necessary are part numbers (old/new) and coding (old/new).

Default It is working now after I recoded CH 060 to zero. (See my original reply to you)

I just wanted to know if there was anything else I should be worried about.

For the record:

OLD:
8D0 920 980 D
Soft coding: 02262
060 = 0
061 = 0
062 = 5

NEW:
8D0 920 980 DX
Soft coding: 02262
060 = 1025 (now coded to 0)
061 = 0
062 = 5
