Default Key FOB programming issue (already searched) kinda long...

I've searched for help with programming my key FOB and have been unsuccessful. I am sure osmeone else has been in my situation but heres where i am at.

1998.5 A4 Quattro Tip

I bought the car with only regular keys, no switchblade. There is a different key for the ignition and the doors ( i am assuming that the ignition was changed and not keyed alike?). I recently bought a used FOB on ebay part number 8D0 837 231 F FCC ID: MYT8Z0837231 and had the key cut for the ignition and now want to program it for the remote door locks etc.

I tried BOTH the manual and VAG COM methods to programming the key with no results. I did change the battery to make sure. Any help here would be great

BTW i did look on my vagcom and there are 2 FOB units programmed to the central locking ECU if that means anything.
