Default I don't know much about lamda, but those 1.991 lambdas must be indicative

Your lambda just jumps up like that. I surmise that means a vacuum leak causes the engine to get a huge blast of air that isn't supposed to be there. However, I would think the too much air condition would mean a lean condition, but you're getting too rich, right? Just my thoughts, anyway. Hopefully someone more knowledgable of lambdas can comment further.

The jump to 1.991 is when I let my foot off the pedal...

Check or replace the vacuum hose which connects to the fuel pressure regulator first.

Default FPR is in the fuel filter on a B6, but I think it is time to replace vac lines and some check valves

I'll check it again, but I tightened it down pretty snug a while back.

Default Yes, if the timing retard doesn't stop the knock, then the fuel mixture is made richer ...

to further attempt to stop the knocking detected. 12 degrees is the limit on ign timing retard.
