Newbie to VAG COM question................
Hi Guys (and Gals, if Applicable)!
I just received my Ross Tech VAG COM cable for our 2011 S5, so I thought that I'd set up the laptop and go try it out. It is an Awesome tool and does A lot of stuff, but my question is:
When I changed a couple of things with it, and then exited the screen to hit the "Do It button", I got a box that popped up with some choices on it. They were:
Yes: Use standard coding of 12345 or 54321 (or something like that)
No: Use the changes
Cancel: Leave everything alone.
Sorry, but these aren't quoted verbatim, just kind of off my slightly poor memory.
Do you have any ideas as to if this is normal or to what I should select when that pops up again?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Well my advice is: When in ANY DOUBT about what you have done, HIT CANCEL. You think messing up mama's windows computer was bad!!!! Try having your car towed to get the software re-installed. It won't be pretty. Get and save a print of the settings prior to changing anything. I changed a setting on my car and my fog lamps would not come on anymore. Fortunately I had a print of the settings and was able to change it back. Don't get me wrong, Is not as daunting as it may sound, but you can screw the pooch! Go through the threads in this forum, and the instructions are fairly good step by step which should keep you out of trouble.
Good luck

You may want to just make a record of the original coding in case you need to change it back to factory. Also try to keep track of all the changes you are making to the individual bits in the long coding helper.
