Is it possible to see why a code wont take? (Tip recode to 00012)
Hi Gang
Im trying to recode my MY2003 Allroad with tip and MFSW (retrofitted tip buttons) from 01032 to 00012
The tranny takes anything that is
010X2 where X is 1,2,3 - I cannot however change the 1 to 0 , which would allow me to use the Tip buttons when in "D" and not just Tip Mode
Is there anyway to use VAGCOM to interogate the tranny as to why? Is there some setting in INSTRUMENTS (17) that needs to reflect this ???

Based on the original coding, the DSP seems to be switched off. However...
...DSP shouldn't have anything to do with tiptronic buttons/paddels. 0XY32 - the "Y" or old or new strategy field does not work on mine
Also - why can I get a 3 if you only list a 1 or 0 for the second from the right? 2 and 3 are also valid codes BTW.

If you find a more complete coding table, let us know - we haven't found one yet.
I have no explanation why your control module wouldn't take the value, sorry.

Permited coding values vary according to TCU PN and firmware/software versions.
Reflashing the controller with later software version may or may not effect the coding values accepted.
