Default Recoding Auto Trans.

I found the following code on a 98 1.8T A4

18089 - Control Module Programming Not Finished
P1681 - 35-00 - -

I noticed that the Auto Trans. has a zero coding. Just wondering what login and what coding (or process) I need to use to see if I can help a fellow member to fix his problem. Thanks

Default 00000 is the correct coding for that trany.

Any functional problems with the tranny?

Is the TCU "chipped"?

Could you please post an Auto-Scan that includes complete data from engine and tranny?

Default TCU is not chipped. At least that is what I was told

He says the tranny seems not shift well. As though it does not know when to shift or how to shift. He also has trouble going over 60km/h. The car was chipped 2 years ago and this problem only came up recently.

Default Yeah, clears up something.

Your first post was confusing. You mention tranny stuff and the 18089 code, so I figured you pulled that code from the tranny.

Is the motor chipped? :-)

Yes it is. But that was 2 years ago. No such issues before.
