The HEX+USB+CAN is the one you want. It uses a USB connector on a laptop and will work with just about any Audi (or VW) with an OBD connector.

Since Ross-Tech only provides software for Windows, you would either need to install a Windows emulator on your Mac or buy a cheap PC laptop.

That is no longer true. Ross-Tech now offers our HEX-NET interface that is compute platform independent. It works wireless by WiFi to any device with a web browser. As I don't want to get abused here, I will not link the product listing. Go to the Ross-Tech Shop pages and you will find the HEX-NET device. It will work on Macs, iPad, iPhones, and even crazy devices like watches and video game consoles. It does not require an app to be installed - just a web browser.

Yes I wondered about that when reading Your website, but with this one, is there any cable follows as the other Ross-Tech's?
Or is this totally wireless?
A plugin that sends to "my" laptop/phone/Kindle?
Is it cable too, from the car to something?

I like the wifi idea, but I would go with the Hex-USB+CAN. I personally feel more comfortable with a wired connection.

I'm a linux/mac guy. I thought about running an emulator and saw that solution when I got my car about 3 months ago. I have ran emulators before no problem. But for $30, I just went with dedicated laptop.

Ok, late but here I am again!!
I bought the Ross Tech WIFI and below is my latest scan..
I had all "computers" out TCU etc.. Tugged in all cables but no luck/changes..
New battery, had all grounds inspected and "sealed"/cleaned..
All of the car looks like brand new to be honest
But why my transmission problem??
It runs in only 2 and 3rd, not in 1 or 4 or D..

well, you have two ABS faults and your transmission control module isn't communicating...might also have failed. Not to mention you have a few other fault codes going on.

Unfortunately, the VCDS can only pinpoint and describe the faults but a Bentley repair manual would be helpful for troubleshooting and repair procedures.
