It was not much money, but I precisely specified that I wanted an "uncut, not repaired, complete harness", and got this connector!
Not he blaming me to not understand that, "how do you think that You can get a harness for so little money, (under $50), yes I know it was cheap! But again, I said and was sold as a TCU harness, NOT a CONNECTOR only! :
Well well, I got contacted of a more serious wrecking yard now who said that they had a complete harness, I just have to let them know if I want it, and they deattach it from the car.. Sweet!
I just waiting for the rain to stop so I can pull my harness out, fail code/ search it on the table, I see that it have been repaired on 2 places already, so that is another reason to be suspicious..
Another nice thing! I got my Bentley manual yesterday, Yay!!

Ok, so I finally got some nice help from a VW/AUDI dealer/partsplace
Ok, long time since last..
I got a new TCU harness, or ; WIRING HARNESS FOR 5-SPEED; AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
Now I pulled all the harness from the TCU down to the firewall, but I can't find the cable on the other side! Anyone that knows how it is routed??
It is the round connectors that what I guessing is the gear box connector etc..
I would like to see some pics or so..

Today I finally got that #$%^ harness out from the rig! That was a pain in a butt!
Specially the part thru the firewall/grommet.. And don't talk about to get the connectors back thru the double wall inner fender! I finally cut the big round one off, Ok this was my original harness, I still have the "new" one intact, tonight I am going to measure the "new" one so all cables are good, even then bending and so..
Thinking about if I should buy/order a new connector/switch for the transmission before putting it together, what do You guys think? Something I forgot? Or should do now in this stage?

Update, sorry it took so long time..
But here it is:
I took out that harness (took apart the whole car pretty much! ) and finally got the new harness in..
Do You know that the Audi have "2 firewalls"? well.. once you got the grommet out, slid away, the harness goes thru the steering ram tunnel, and under two (2) again walls/innerfenders, like thru a tunnel up front..
To take the old harness out was kinda simple, I wasn't so careful then.. just pull and twist and pull etc..
BUT!? when trying to feed the harness/connectors back!... ha, thats a pain in..
well, after work and dark thoughts, it is in there..
Connected all together, ok no seats or airbags, carpet, etc..
Do You think it worked??
Same stupid story!!!

P1626 - 35-00 - Missing Message from TCU

P1602 - 35-00 - Voltage too Low
18058 - Powertrain Data Bus
P1650 - 35-10 - Missing Message from Instrument Cluster - Intermittent
Ahhh poop!!
The instrument cluster is still just unconnected, but even then I do, this two (2) continues:

P1626 - 35-00 - Missing Message from TCU
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30
P1602 - 35-00 - Voltage too Low
ANYONE HAD THE SAME SCENARIO??
I'm out at Oregon coast and I don't think it is any shop that have experience enough here for this fixing, You have any connections or thoughts, I starting to give up...

The plug on the tranny is "new", I took the best one I had and connected it to the harness, I checked and double checked the harness, BEFORE I put it in..
The connectors to the battery and the ground on the tray is as new..
So I don't have more ideas...

NEW TCU !!! STILL PROBLEMS!!
Update:
Been in contact with the guys at GIAC, sent my TCU to them, find out that they could not "connect" to my TCU, after more checkup, they could see that previous owner probably tried to solder in a prom or something.. so thats junk..
Bought a "new" TCU on Ebay from callahanautoparts, but still the transmission is in limp mode even with that TCU!?

What am I missing, or am I just that stupid or what..?

If everything was installed properly with the correct parts, it probably needs to be coded to the car by a knowledgeable tech. After five months of no fix on your own, it's probably time for one of those "knowitall" guys you mentioned.
