Seat Belt Chime and Forgot Lights on Chime quit working. 02 A4 1.8L
My seat belt chime and forgot lights chime quit working. I ran Vag and no problems. Checked all fuses, good. Anybody have this problem? Thanks, Tony.

Run output tests on your instrument cluster to see if the beeper still works.

Ran Output Test
Ran output test and no chime. I tried different codes and no change. Could it be that the buzzer inside the cluster has died? Really strange. If I buy a used cluster, will I be able to program it to work? The buzzer is nice to have when you forget to turn off the lights. Thanks UWE.

Chime Update !!!
I got the nerve to remove the instrument cluster and look at the rear of the cluster where the beeper/chime sound came from. I removed the rear cover on the cluster and found a small speaker integrated to the back of the cluster circuit board. I soldered two wires to the speaker at the board and ran the wires to the fuse box area. I plugged the cluster back in and hooked up a $1.98 tiny 8hm speaker from Radio Shack at the wires at the fuse box and, WALLA!! I have a chime!!! never thought I would be so excited about a chime. Like they say, If at first you don't succeed, pull the cluster.
