Background: two weeks ago my A6 (2003 2.7t) started over heating only when at a standstill (like in traffic for more than a few minutes. Air conditioner runs cold when the car is moving, but changes to warm air when I get to a red light and stop for a while.

Now: check engine light is on showing the following:

System too Lean (Bank 1)

System too Lean (Bank 2)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Are the codes and the overheating connected?

For overheating and air condition problem, check engine and condenser cooling fans.

well i just switched to ngk platinum plugs and put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in my tank at the same time and now my 2001 TT is reading bank 1 (add) fuel too lean as well, did you do any thing like that, hopefully after i burn thru the tank with the cleaner it'll go away
