cable theres gotta be a way to have Vag-Com log at whatever rate the interface supports.

APR's ECUx reads the data directly from the control modules RAM and not through a normal...
...diagnostic session. This means it needs to know the backdoors and specific addresses where to look for the individual values. As far as I am aware it supports only a small variety of engines or engine management generations, while VAG-COM even though it may seem limited works with all of them, no matter if it is a 1991 VW Jetta or a 2007 Audi R8. The limiting factor of the sample rate will always be the ECU and if that one is not intended to supply the data faster we can't do much about it.
FWIW VAG-COM does support rates up to ~33 samples per second like you could get them from an MK4 R32 for example, while it will give you 14-15 samples on a current 2.0T - this is already much faster then for example a dealers VAS.

I understand the way it works, and am by no means saying Vag-Com lacks features or compatibility.
I simply asked if this was functionality that may be incorporated into Vag-Com some day, at least on the platform in which I'm concerned.
