So I haven't been in here in a long time but I'm picking up a very nice 2013 A6 for the wife. I had a VAG-COM adaptor long ago for her 2000 A6.
So now I'm looking to get one again for the new ride. Is there a list somewhere of all of the option that can be 'Tweaked / Turned-on' using a VAG-COM?

Just trying to figure out how much can be done, besides the diag feature.

Pretty much everything in the A6 is adjustable via VCDS (or the Audi MMI if you have the Nav option fitted), however you will need a VCDS cable that is capable of working with the next generation CANbus modules that are on your new car.

Where is the best place to get just the cable and any software I need, besides the ROSS-TECH site? I will probably get one from them in the future, but for now I just want to turn on / off some of the tweaks available.
I have the NAV option in my A6.

Ross-Tech site and their distributors is it. Pay the money - you'll be pleased with what you can do.


Alternatively use a search engine and search "vcds locator" and find an existing VCDS owner in your geography to help you. Not worth wasting time trying any of the cheaper cables.


BTW - I am not associated with Ross-Tech, just a very satisfied cable owner whose $350+ cable investment has worked for me for more than 9 years.

One 'tweak' I would like is the window up & down using the smartkey. Can those changes be made using the MMI?

If they don't already show up in the navigation MMI, then you need to use VCDS to make those menu options visible first.
